City Center hosts Fifth Annual Wine Festival
City Center at Oyster Point in Newport News invites you to sip and savor at the Fifth Annual Wine Festival, Vineyards by the Fountain, on Saturday, September 25th, 1-6 PM by the fountain stage. "Vineyards by the Fountain" is a celebration to welcome the fall and enjoy the fruits of the vineyards, delicious food, great music and good company. Come sample some of the finest California wines or let your palette travel by way of wine through the countries of France, Germany, Italy, Australia, Argentina, and Spain. The afternoon will celebrate a few of life's finer things. Wine, of course is the center of attention. Patrons will taste fine wine - red to white and everything in between - from Farm Fresh Wine Cellar, this year's wine sponsor. Their wine experts, as well as select wine vendors, will be on hand to discuss their choices and answer questions about the wines being served. Returning for its third year, the Beer Garden will give curious connoisseurs of the world's oldest beverage a chance to sample craft beers. Tasters' tickets including a souvenir tasting glass are $25 in advance, $30 day of at the gate. Non-Tasters' admission is $15. Patrons can sample Beer Garden brews for $1 per tasting and $3 per glass. Cash Only On-Site. Food and other beverages will be available for purchase on site. Wines by the bottle will also be available for purchase and must be consumed on site. Patrons must be 21+ to purchase or consume alcohol. Proper identification is required. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. No carry-in alcoholic beverages or tables and no pets are allowed. The event is on, rain or shine. Tickets are available by clicking here This event is sponsored by the Virginia Arts Festival. The mission of the Virginia Arts Festival is to bring world-class performing arts to our citizens and visitors, impact the lives of students through outstanding educational programs, commission new works of national and international significance, and make a tangible difference in Hampton Roads through regional partnerships and positive economic impact through the generation of cultural tourism.
