Flogging Molly bring their unique brand of Celtic punk to NorVA in Norfolk, VA during their 7th Annual Green 17 Tour on February 18th. The Green 17 Tour was born in 2004 as a countdown to St Patrick's Day with a performance celebration in each city leading up to the holiday. Flogging Molly will be playing songs from their celebrated body of work and previewing new songs from their upcoming new album, scheduled to be released in late May 2011. The 2011 Green 17 Tour features special guests Moneybrother and The Drowning Men.
Flogging Molly recently finished recording the yet-to-be-titled new album in Asheville, NC with producer Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Avett Brothers). Flogging Molly fans pack venues throughout the US during the Green 17 Tour each year, and the shows have grown into near-legendary status. The group's blend of traditional Celtic sounds, hard-edged punk and thoughtful lyrics, combined with the sheer power of their live performances have created a loyal following that matches the band's energy night after night.
