The museum is dedicated to the study of 234 years of naval history in the Hampton Roads region. The museum assists the City of Norfolk and Nauticus: The National Maritime Center with docent training and management of the small artifact collection concerning the battleship Wisconsin. All other times of the year it is closed on Mondays, open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and open on Sunday 12 to 5 p.m. Note Holiday hours: closed December 25  Featured in the Passport
