Ichiban, Newtown was opened by leading restaurateur Mina Tang in the year 2007. The name Ichiban translates quite literally as number one or outstanding and this is the ethos behind the innovative menu. With an emphasis on refined yet creative cuisine, the menu incorporates both traditional classic favourites and original new dishes. Acclaimed favourites include Peking Duck, Original Flavor Scallop, Lamp Chop, Fried Cracked Beef, Coconut Shrimp, Super Sweetheart Roll and different variety of sushi.

Located at the heart of Newtown, Williamsburg in a prominent position, the sumptuous interior lends itself to the rich vibrancy. The main restaurant seats 99 and is available for private entertaining by appointment whilst the cocktail bar can host private drinks parties for up to 20 guests.  Ichiban has a modern flare, but encompasses a welcoming atmosphere.  Whatever the occasion, Ichiban will create the perfect ambience.A place where eager diners will begin by enjoying an evening of exquisite food, a fine bottle of wine and great company, as the night reforms to a suitable atmosphere.
