As a woman who has yet to experience "the change," my only experience with menopause resulted in a mid-winter thermostat war. Luckily, the talented Jeanie Linders wrote and produced a hilarious musical on the subject to shed light on the experiences of women going through the big M. Best of all, it's coming to the TCC Center in Norfolk.

Harmony Between Athleticism and Art: Birmingham Royal Ballet's Swan LakeContributed by Diana Fakhouri
The Birmingham Royal Ballet's production of Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov's Swan Lake at the 14th Annual Virginia Arts Festival was a delight for all ages. Elaborate costumes, decadent scenery, and a moving score performed by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra contributed to the ballet's captivating power. The company's portrayal of Odette and Prince Siegfried's ill-fated love enchanted the opening night audience at Chrysler Hall, utilizing opulent sets, costumes, and props to tell a story without words. Despite the nearly 3 hour running time, children in the theater were dazzled by the spectacle and I was impressed by their enduring focus on the piece.
