d'Art Center
Tues-Sat, 10am-6pm; Sun, 1pm-5pm
The d'Art Center, housed in the historic Selden Arcade, is home to 30 studios for working artists in all mediums. The Center holds art classes for adults and children and often hosts private events and benefits. A new initiative, d'ART SMART collects art supplies for use by underserved young people.

 Did you know that Saturday, August 20 is National Honey Bee Awareness Day?
Well, the Norfolk Botanical Gardens knows, and to celebrate they are hosting their Honey Bee Festival. It will be fun for the whole family including children's activities, demonstrations, and plenty of honey vendors. There will also be a chance to take a peek inside a real bee hive. This event is sure to leave you buzzing with excitement!

August 20, 2011: Zoo Grooves Summer Concert
The next Zoo GroOves Summer Concert is Saturday, August 20! Norfolk's own "School of Rock" house band and "Prana" will rock the Zoo's event field, so pack your own blankets and lawn chairs! Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and performances begin at 6:00 p.m. Refreshments will be available for purchase until 8:00 p.m.
General Zoo admission applies for non-members - Adults: $11, Children: $9 and Seniors: $10 - but Zoo members get in FREE, as do members of the Norfolk Botanical Garden and Nauticus. |
