More and more people are practicing yoga in the United States. And a "hot" new practice has emerged known as Hot Yoga.
You might be asking what exactly is hot yoga? Hot Yoga at Hot House Yoga teaches a lineage of yoga that originated in Calcutta India, a place known for its sweltering climate. The Hot Yoga Sequence is a combination of 25-30 stationary postures done in a heated room, to recreate the climate in which it was developed. The postures are designed to force fresh blood and oxygen to every area of the body.
The room is heated to 105 degrees with a minimum humidity level of 50%. The hot room helps to prevent injury, and to warm the muscles, allowing for a deeper release within the body. With all that heat and moisture in the room, the risk of ache or injury is actually greatly reduced. And with all that heat you sweat and sweat, flushing toxins from your cells and tissues.
So, enjoy this "hot" exercise for your body and your mind -you might just be surprised at how refreshing, invigorating and relaxing it can be!
Intention, Focus, Concentration, Strength, Balance, Flexibility, Peace of Mind. These are all things you will gain by going to these classes. I try to go as regularly as I can and incorporate as many classes during the week - it is truly invigorating and quite a work out.
