McDonald's Holidays Lights in Virginia Beach

With the holidays fast approaching, everyone is scurrying to decorate their houses for the best lighting or reindeer-on-the-roof displays. Interestingly, this annual lighting competition has traveled from the house to the beach, with one of the largest lighting displays in the U.S. happening right here in Virginia Beach! McDonald's Holiday Lights on the Beach brings over 100,000 visitors to the ride along the boardwalk, taking in all the neat, fascinating light displays that the oceanfront has to offer.

From towering Christmas trees to bright, colorful exhibits of nautical animals and other holiday lighting, this event will surely entertain and awe your friends and family! Making a trip to Virginia Beach? Hotels offer a free ticket to the lighting show for the holiday travelers, a great way to spend the holidays. Also, during the event, a free CD of holiday music will be provided to each vehicle entering McDonald's Holiday Lights at the Beach, presented by nTelos Wireless. So start or end the holiday season right will this amazing event!

Life in the off season in Virginia Beach

Posted by R.A.Henriquez in Virginia Beach , Family Fun , B&B

grey-done-neptuneContributed by RA Henriquez

There's a big misconception that the only things to do in Hampton Roads is Colonial Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Although there are an array of attractions in the other cities and counties in between, there's a bigger myth that after Labor Day, the Beach is dead until the first blossoms of spring. False. Just because the only people brave enough to enjoy the Beach in the off-season are die-hard surfers and the swimmers during February's Polar Plunge, doesn't mean there's nothing else to be experienced in Virginia Beach.
