With the holidays fast approaching, everyone is scurrying to decorate their houses for the best lighting or reindeer-on-the-roof displays. Interestingly, this annual lighting competition has traveled from the house to the beach, with one of the largest lighting displays in the U.S. happening right here in Virginia Beach! McDonald's Holiday Lights on the Beach brings over 100,000 visitors to the ride along the boardwalk, taking in all the neat, fascinating light displays that the oceanfront has to offer.
From towering Christmas trees to bright, colorful exhibits of nautical animals and other holiday lighting, this event will surely entertain and awe your friends and family! Making a trip to Virginia Beach? Hotels offer a free ticket to the lighting show for the holiday travelers, a great way to spend the holidays. Also, during the event, a free CD of holiday music will be provided to each vehicle entering McDonald's Holiday Lights at the Beach, presented by nTelos Wireless. So start or end the holiday season right will this amazing event!

The 2010 Dominion Christmas parade will take place on Saturday, December 4, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. The 27th annual event will depart from the Science Museum on West Broad Street and continue east until ending on Seventh Street. Last year's parade event attracted more than 100,000 spectators from all over Virginia, with thousands more watching a live television broadcast.
The parade will feature a very special Grand Marshal, holiday floats, marching bands, huge helium balloons and Santa. The parade kicks off the traditional Christmas season in and around metropolitan Richmond.
