David Sanborn & Tower of Power Coming to the Sandler Center

Posted by admin in Virginia Beach , Nightlife , Music , Live Performance , Concert

Sandler Center for the Performing Arts
Date: Sunday, March 29th, 2009

Time: 7:30 pm

Renowned and revered the world over as one of the greatest saxophone players of all-time, David Sanborn is an artist whose music has inspired countless other musicians while creating a body of work that spans the genres of rock ‘n’ roll, R&B, pop and jazz. A naturally gifted performer, David has helped defined the saxophone’s modern sound while influencing a generation.

Critically-acclaimed Tower Of Power has long been considered one of the greatest horn sections in the business, and although they have (collectively and individually) recorded as sidemen for Elton John, Santana, Bonnie Raitt, David Sanborn, Michelle Shocked and Aaron Neville amongst many others, Tower Of Power's sum is truly greater than its parts.

I haven’t seen David Sanborn live but I know he’s one of the best.  I have seen Tower of Power many times and they are great.  They are one of my favorites groups to see live because they have such energy and soul.  Check out this video and get yourself a soul vaccination!  See you there.

Posted by taylor in Road Trip Worthy , Richmond , Music , Live Performance , Cool News , Concert

Jennifer Hudson is coming to Richmond so mark your calendars for Sunday, April 19, 2009 at the Landmark Theatre.  The show begins at 7:30 PM and she will be touring with Robin Thicke, another incredibly talented and soulful artist.  This is a must see concert in Richmond!!  Tickets are available now at Ticketmaster.

If you don't know who Jennifer Hudson is then you must've been living under a rock.  She rose to prominence as one of the finalists on American Idol and has since established herself as a film actress and Grammy award winning singer.  She is one of the few actors to have won all four major screen acting awards, including an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild award.
