Virginia Air & Space Center in Hampton, VA is the 1st Museum in the World to go IMAX 3D Digital!

Out of 447 IMAX theaters worldwide and 256 in the US, the Riverside IMAX 3D Theater, is the first institutional theater in the world to go IMAX 3D Digital! The state-of-the-art enhancements include IMAX's powerful digital projection system and latest digital surround sound, a new IMAX screen, new flooring, and new seating with cup holders. The audience experience is better than ever! While still presenting traditional IMAX films such as Hubble 3D and Under the Sea 3D, the digital upgrades will allow for more Hollywood blockbusters to be shown. Legend of the Guardians: Owls of Ga' Hoole, opening September 24, will be the first full-length feature visitors can enjoy in the newly renovated IMAX Theater. The Riverside IMAX 3D Theater is the largest IMAX screen on the Peninsula!

Don't miss the 42nd annual Phoebus Days celebration of our community and small town life. . . lived the way it should be. This fun event is a favorite with families, visitors and local residents. The Phoebus Days Parade returns. . . bigger and better than ever! There will be arts, crafts, games and contests, and live entertainment.

To celebrate National Fire Prevention Month, the Phoebus Days Parade happily welcomes units that previously participated in the annual Hampton Fire Parade, which will mean a larger and more exciting event for kids and adults alike.  The Phoebus Day festivities will take place on Mallory and Mellen Streets in Hampton, VA.  Click here for more information.

Native American Festival: Thunder on the Bay in Hampton

Friday, September 17th, 7:30-9:00 PM
Saturday, September 18th, 11:00 AM -8:00 PM (12 PM Grand Entry)

native-festival-hamptonA Hampton 400th Anniversary Feature Event, Thunder on the Bay is a drumming and dancing pow-wow, focusing on the continued Native American presence in our region and along the East Coast, with educational exhibits, food vendors, and craft vendors.

The fun kicks off on Friday with a free musical performance by NAMMY award-winning flautist Jeff Ball and his band. The show takes place 7:30-9 p.m., followed by a dazzling fireworks display over the Chesapeake Bay at 9:15 p.m. Saturday's activities begin at 11 a.m. with a showcase of native dances, arts and crafts, Native American cuisine, and more! Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged.
