An Interview with The Maestro

Posted by Kimberley Cuachon-Haugh in Symphony Orchestra , Newport News , Music , Live Performance , Live Music , Interview , Insiders Passport , Concert

Contributed by Kimberley Cuachon-Haugh

With the precipitous pace of the holidays, its true meaning can easily be forgotten. No matter the change in décor trends for your tree, if you decide to go with clear or colorful lights for the outside, an unfaltering facet is Virginia Symphony’s Handel’s Messiah. An oratorio written by German composer George Frederic Handel, it is by far the most celebrated piece of musical literature. The libretto, written by Charles Jennins taken directly from the Bible depicts the birth, life, passion, and power of Christ.

An Insider's Passport Exclusive: Jim Brickman brings his music to Newport News and Richmond, VA

Posted by admin in Richmond , Newport News , Music , Live Performance , Insiders Passport , Holiday Events , Discounts , Concert

Jim Brickman is coming to the Virginia area for a few shows that begin and end the holiday season.  We had the great opportunity to talk with him and see what this prolific and very popular artist has been up to and learn a little about his upcoming tour.

jb-pianoHow would you describe and explain your music? I do something that is considered not really mainstream. I play solo piano music - music that is romantic, emotional, pop music - music that you can chill-out with, to celebrate with, to relax, de-stress and enjoy.
