Ahhh, Labor Day. For lots of kids headed back to school it's their last weekend of freedom. But even if you've already started back to the ol' grind it's still a long weekend for you to get out there and enjoy the summer sun. If you're looking to start your Labor Day off right, head over to the Tears for Fears show at The National Sunday night at 8:00pm. Tickeys are $42.50, but "c'mon....I'm talkin' to you...c'mon!" (You know you love their song "Shout.")
If you'd rather start the par-tay on Monday, check out the Richmond Flying Squirrels in their last game of the season as they take on the Bowie Baysocks with a 12:05 start time. After you cheer on our favorite baseball team, head on over to Capital Ale House for $1 burger night!

Cruise the Hampton Roads Harbor on the Miss Hampton II, a very unique and exciting nautical experience. This 2 1/2 to 3-hour Harbor Tour departs from the Historic Downtown Hampton waterfront and proceeds out the Hampton River, passing Hampton University and Blackbeard's Point, where the notorious pirate's head was displayed on a pike after his capture off the coast of the Outer Banks.

  • Sail the waters of Captain John Smith and the First Settlers.
  • See historic Fort Monroe and the Old Point Comfort Lighthouse, the oldest continuously operating lighthouse in America.
  • Enjoy a 30-minute guided walking tour of the Civil War Island Fortress of Fort Wool.
  • Experience the massive warships at the Norfolk Naval Base, home to aircraft carriers, nuclear-powered submarines, and various types of support ships.

The return trip to Hampton features a captivating narrative of the famous Battle of the Ironclads: the Monitor and the Merrimac!
