Discover how "going green" can be fun with the new traveling exhibit Sustainable Choices.
It explains through interactive activities, the importance of protecting our environment. This educational exhibit promotes environmentally friendly ideas to help us better understand life cycles, production of materials, consumption and waste management.
Sustainable Choices, a NEW exhibit at Virginia Air & Space Center explores the use of utilities through our daily rituals. Have you ever wondered what happens to the water that is used for common household purposes? Where does it end up and what happens to the detergents and other various chemicals that get added along the way? In How do I Wash & Dry? you can participate in an interactive quiz board that challenges you to think about the amount of water and energy used in daily activities.

Sensible Seafood Fest: A Celebration of Sustainable Foods


Kids from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond will help harvest produce from the Science Museum of Virginia's Green Acre Farm on Thursday, Aug. 19, at 10 a.m. Representatives from the Central Virginia Food Bank will be on hand to collect and later distribute the harvest. The Science Museum of Virginia has already donated 1,000 pounds to the Food Bank and more is on the way.
