Comparison Shopping Trends, Vacation Planning Trends, & Vacation Theme Trends for Virginia’s Top Beach Leisure Destination
A recent study conducted on 7,670 opted-in travelers who searched for vacation rentals in Virginia's top leisure destinations from July 2008 to January 2010 validates recent forecasts by travel experts on consumers' interests in comparison shopping. Rentalo.com shared some interesting findings on traveler's vacation planning habits and destination's vacation themes for Virginia's top vacation destinations including Virginia Beach.

Comparison Shopping Trends for Virginia Beach: The study revealed that 58 percent of the vacation planners who inquired for a place to stay showed interest in comparison shopping among Virginia Beach vacation rentals, bed breakfasts, and hotels. 49 percent of leisure travelers showed interest in staying nearby Virginia Beach in cities like Sandbridge Beach, Salem, Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Portsmouth.

This year, a fantastic coincidence is upon us: Chinese New Year falls on Valentine's Day. On February 14, the Year of the Tiger begins, and friends and lovers everywhere will exchange cards and chocolates. The Chinese New Year moves around, relative to our calendar, because it is determined by the Lunar Calendar, rather than by a Solar Calendar, as our ordinary dates are (Easter does the same).
The Super Bowl is coming up, and I thought I would share a few bits of trivia about the event. The Super Bowl was first played on January 15, 1967. The Super Bowl was actually played before the NFL and AFL merged into one league, and was formed by a temporary agreement between the two league's that the champion teams from each league would compete in an inter-league championship for a few years, while the contracts that would merge the two leagues were being negotiated. Now, of course, the leagues have joined, and what were once two different leagues are considered the two conferences of the NFL.
