No one likes to ride a roller coaster in a winter coat. Just think of all the contents you store in those winter coat pockets pouring downward as you're whisked 90 miles an hour through the freezing air. No thanks. That's why amusement parks are closed in the winter. But all things which close on a seasonal basis also open on a seasonal basis, and the opening of Kings Dominion for the summer is coming up soon!
Really soon. Kings Dominion will be re-opening its gates, roller coasters, scramblers, ferris wheels, snacks, games, and FUN on Friday, April 2nd. In the offseason, the King has added a few new attractions to his Dominion: the Intimidator 305 and Snoopy Planet. The Intimidator 305 is the tallest and fastest roller coaster on the East Coast, traveling 5,100 feet at speeds up to 92 miles-per-hour, peaking with a 305 foot drop. Snoopy Planet is the world of, yes you guessed it, Snoopy and his Peanut friends, a specialty mini-park-area designed for kids but welcome to persons of all ages. Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy and the other Peanuts characters will also be around every day for pictures and hugs.
