I love snow, and I'm glad Virginia's seen more than its fair share this season! Nonetheless, when I'm not gazing at the falling flakes, I long for a few sunny days... or a sun-drenched Florida sojourn. Let's face it, the winter blues are seeping in as the snow melts, and spring is still a mirage from our vantage point. It's medically proven that winter's lack of sunshine dampens moods - seriously, it's called Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD, go figure)! - so beat the blues and make this the brightest season of all! You bundle up to stay warm in the winter, which can make us less conscious of our body image. Stay on track with diet and exercise so you'll be ready for swimsuit season. Better yet, bump it up to January! Throw an indoor beach party for all your buds. Set the thermostat a bit higher (a few hours won't hurt your budget too much) and serve fruity drinks to get everyone feeling summery. Don't forget the umbrellas and twisty straws - any party store worth its salt should still have them in the off season!
