Celebrate Independence Day at our Annual July 4th Celebration at Mt. Trashmore Park

Sunday, July 4, 2010 4 PM - 10 PM, Free Admission and Open to the Public

fireworks-vbCelebrate with your family and friends at Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation's Annual July 4th Celebration at Mount Trashmore Park. We're featuring a "Salute to the Military" with a main stage performance by the rock ensemble of the U.S. Fleet Forces Band, Four Star Edition! With free admission, this day of family fun is open to the public and will take place on Sunday, July 4, 2010, from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm at Mount Trashmore Park in Virginia Beach. Limited onsite parking will be available - $5 per car.

Schedule of Events:
Main Stage - 5:00 PM
Black Bird Pond is a local alternative-rock band whose sound mixes British, indie and good ol' southern rock with pop songwriting. Influenced by the likes of The Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and The White Stripes, Blackbird Pond's soulful sound crosses several generations and genres and will be sure to have the jamming and grooving.

6:00 & 8:00 PM
Four Star Edition entertains audiences across the Mid-Atlantic with a hard hitting blend of contemporary music that includes today's top Rock and Country hits, as well as Classic Rock and songs that help us remember our pride in America. As an ensemble of the U.S. Fleet Forces Band, the six Navy musicians that comprise Four Star Edition are among the Navy's most talented and versatile. Each performance presents a diverse, high-energy show that entertains audiences of all ages.

Activities:
5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Children's activities and games at Shelter #3 including bouncing inflatables!

Fireworks - 9:30 p.m.
Pyrotechnico will amaze the crowd with their spectacular fireworks show.

Festival Foods Available for Purchase
Sink your teeth into some of the best festival foods, including: hot dogs, hamburgers, BBQ sandwiches, chicken pitas, Italian sausages, and more! Sodas, bottled water, lemonade, and sno-cones will also be available.

Parking:
Limited Onsite Parking is available at Mount Trashmore Park beginning at 10:00 am. Fees: $5 per car, $10 bus/RV

Road Closure:
When parking lots at Mount Trashmore Park are full, Edwin Drive between Independence Blvd. and South Blvd. may close. Expect delays.
