Be one of the first to view this exhibition showcasing Norfolk photographer Glen McClure's powerful black and white photographs depicting Chesapeake watermen.
Time: 10:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Regular Museum admission will allow you to participate in:
Gallery Talk 2:00 P.M.
Glen McClure and Tom Moore Join photographer Glen McClure and Senior Curator of Photography Thomas Moore for a gallery tour and talk about the Museum's new photography exhibition, Endangered Species: Watermen of the Chesapeake Bay.
Children's activities throughout the day will include scavenger hunts, crafts, and hands-on science in the Chesapeake Bay, an Estuary in Crisis gallery.

Activities in celebration of International Talk Like a Pirate Day:
* Living History Encampment on the front lawn of the museum: interact with pirates from the Colonial Seaport Foundation and sailors of His Majesty's Sloop Otter. * Death of Blackbeard puppet show in the Roper Theater at 1:30 P.M. and 3:30 P.M. * 3rd Annual Talk Like a Pirate competition in the Main Lobby at 2:00 P.M. with prizes. Additional prize for best dressed competitor. * Games and crafts in the Main Lobby presented by The Mariners' Museum Education Department. * Enter a raffle for a gift certificate to 138 Tattoo and Body Piercing of Gloucester, Virginia with proceeds benefiting the Museum Collections Committee.

3:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. The Mariners' Museum and its Bronze Door Society invite you to Celebrate The Chesapeake Bay! Family Fun Festival
With one ticket, participants can enjoy all of Sunday's museum activities (listed above) from Noon - 5:00 P.M. Then, stay from 3:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. for delicious seafood, barbeque and hot dogs-along with a great show from Slapwater. This event will be under a tent on the front lawn of the Museum. In case of rain, the event will be in the Museum's main lobby.
TICKETS PRESALE: $40 for adults, $10 for children 12 & under
TICKETS DAY OF EVENT: $50 for adults, $15 for children 12 & under
