In addition to the restaurant, A Chef's Kitchen is also a cooking school. John teaches hands-on cooking classes on Tuesdays evenings. Classes start at 6:00 PM and last approximately two hours. Cost is $39.50 per person. This includes samples of each dish and the recipes. Some classes include wine and guest speakers; these classes are $45 per person. Take a class or two in A Chef's Kitchen. Then throw a party or host a summer bbq. You'll impress your family and friends with the new recipes and skills John will teach you. Call 757-564-8500 to make your class reservation.

If you ever ask Chef John Gonzales the reason he started A Chef's Kitchen he'll tell you it's because he "felt sorry for the audiences on the Food Network" because they never had the opportunity to eat the dishes being prepared right in front of them. At A Chef's Kitchen, John has certainly improved the experience for his audience - he will prepare your four course meal and then you get to enjoy the fruits of his labor! The restaurant is set up like a culinary classroom with stadium style seating so everyone can watch the chef at work. What a cool concept!
