The Richmond Flying Squirrels will open up their last home stand of the season with a Back to School Night against the Bowie Baysox on Friday, September 3rd. There will be a giveaway, Ladies Night, Kids Run the Bases, and a newly added Firework Spectacular presented by AAA Mid-Atlantic, 98.9 Liberty, and Richmond Family Magazine. To kick off Labor Day weekend and the return to school, the Flying Squirrels will be giving away a Drawstring Backpack. The first 2,000 kids 14 and under through the gates will receive the giveaway. A fireworks extravaganza will be taking place immediately following post-game launch-a-ball. The last Ladies Night of the season will be taking place Friday night giving the female fans a special opportunity to win prizes from around the area. Turn to page 37 in the NutShell Game Day Program and turn in the completed entry form to the Ladies Night table located on the main concourse. Fans, be sure to check out the concourse tables located on the main concourse. Tabling for Friday night will include: AAA, University of Phoenix, Memories Galore, Dransfield Jewelers, Clear, Oreck, and Buick/GMC outside the gates. There will also be sampling at the exit of Nesquick. Since it's a weekend night, all kids 14 and under will be invited to Run the Bases courtesy of the RoomStore immediately following the fireworks show. Fans are also invited to play post-game launch-a-ball for a chance to win great prizes from local restaurants and shops. Tennis balls for play can be purchased on the main concourse.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM with gates opening at 6:00 for live entertainment provided by No Bounds Band.
