The Children’s Museum has 64,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space, featuring dozens of interactive exhibits and a planetarium. Young and old will be fascinated by the antique toy and model train collection, one of the largest on the East Coast. The train collection includes examples from the early 1900s through the present day. The Children's Museum of Virginia is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays. Closed on Mondays, except on holidays that fall on a Monday and during the summer months, from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Admission: $6/person, with children under two free.
