Virginia Beach Craft Beer Festival at 24th Street Park

Saturday, October 17 & Sunday, Oct 18th 1 PM - 6 PM

craftbeer-vab

Over 50 craft beers from over 25 breweries will be available for sampling at the Virginia Beach Craft Beer Festival at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Craft beer is made using a traditional process of blending the sugars from malted grains (such as barley or wheat), with hop flowers and water. The skill of the Masterbrewer brings out the desired aroma, color, mouth feel, foam and flavor qualities of the hops and malt through formulation of recipes and the fermentation of sugars into alcohol, carbon dioxide gas and other characters. After careful aging at just the right temperatures the beer is packaged and delivered to the consumer.

A $20 per person tasting ticket includes a commemorative glass and unlimited tastings. The price for tickets sold at the gate is $25. There are a limited number of tickets being sold each day.
Designated drivers will be admitted free of charge.

Breweries represented include:

Legend Brewing (Oktoberfest, Brown Ale, Pilsner)
St. George Brewing (Fall Bock, IPA, Porter)
Gordon Biersch Brewing (Marzen, Blonde Bock)
Southern Tier Brewing (Unearthly, Iniquity)
Clipper City Brewing (Heavy Seas Loose Cannon, Heavy Seas Craft Warning)
Harpoon Brewing (IPA)
Victory Brewing (Hop Devil IPA, Storm King Stout, Golden Monkey)
Lagunitas Brewing (IPA, Pils)
Oskar Blues Brewing (Gordon, Old Chub)
Dominion Brewing (Oak Barrel Stout, Lager)

Since this is an adult-oriented event, there are no planned activities for children, so their attendance is not recommended.

Dogs will not be admitted into the gated park area.

Enjoy Live Music

Rock band Virginia Coalition, playing at the Virginia Beach Craft Beer Festival at 4:15pm on Saturday, October 17, started building a buzz in their hometown of Alexandria, Virginia in the late '90s, releasing their first album, The Colors of the Sound, in 1998. By 2003 the band had three independent albums in their pocket and maintained an intense touring schedule, selling some 60,000 albums, mostly from the edge of the stage. Virginia Coalition is a band that has made its reputation with the blazing energy of its live shows and ability to play almost any style of music.

The Sons of Bill is known for songs about the struggles and hopes of human life, played by five guys from central Virginia, raised on traditional country music with an unabashed love for Rock n' Roll! With a live show known to evolve from acoustic ballads into sweaty stage-dives, Sons of Bill has gained a loyal fan base from Florida to NYC, sharing the stage with acts ranging from Robert Randolph to Robert Earl Keen. After selling their self-released debut album A Far Cry from Freedom by the thousands, Sons of Bill flew to California in late 2008 to record a much anticipated follow up, released in June of this year. The Sons of Bill take the stage at 4:15pm on Sunday, October 18.

Enter your Dachshund in the Dachshund Beauty Pageant, to be held Saturday, October 17. Whether they're dressed up in costumes, performing a "talent," or just modeling on the special doggy "runway," the Dachshunds are sure to be a hit! The Dachshund Beauty Pageant will be held outside of the gated event area, so attendance is and participation is free.

The Virginia Beach Craft Beer Festival is sponsored by Hoffman Beverage, Pepsi, Specialty Beverage of Virginia, the City of Virginia Beach, The Oceanfront Inn, and Integrated Management Group.
