My father was in town this past week for a visit so we took him to Hog Wild Smokehouse. Being from Florida you can imagine he doesn't get too much good bbq. As usual, we had a great experience - great food and friendly service. We went last Thursday night at 7:30 and boy was it packed! I think we got the last available table.

Each of us ordered the Gumbo Ya-Ya to start and then the pulled pork barbecue dinner. My dad had the sweet potato fries and and my husband and I had the collards and green beans for sides. Of course, the entrees came with the always delicious cheesy cornbread. It came fresh from the oven so it was especially good. So good that my husband ordered another basket! Dad liked their Jazzy Q and Sweet and Sassy sauces. My favorite, the Cajun Voodoo was a little too spicy for him. He really enjoyed his dinner and thought their barbecue was fantastic. We also tried the new Budweiser beer, the Golden Wheat (you've probably seen the million commercials on TV promoting it.) It was actually really good - much better than I thought.

Hog Wild Smokehouse is a hit in my household and now it is with my Dad, too. Next time he's in town he definitely wants to go back.
