Great Harvest Bread Company is known for its bread, and with good reason, because their bread is delicious and its preparation unique. Every morning, the Great Harvest employees fresh-grind premium whole wheat and blend it with other natural ingredients, producing warm, fresh, natural loaves of ready-to-serve bread. You won't find this kind of commitment to taste at Subways or Quiznos.

But bread is only half of the battle with a sandwich, maybe even less than half, it's just the margins to the meaty/veggie'd body of the sandwich. Fear not, sandwich-lovers, every Monday thru Saturday from 11am to 2pm, Great Harvest offers cold deli and hot panini sandwiches that more that meet the high-standard taste and quality of their bread. Local favorites include the Louisville Chicken Salad, Pepper Bleu Roast Beef, Spicy Smoked Turkey and Pepper Jack Panini, and Mile High Rye. My typing fingers are making my mouth water!

I recently went into Great Harvest Bread Company on a Wednesday and asked the knowledgeable and nutritionally-minded staff to prepare me a Harvest Veggie on the High 5 Fiber bread. And let me tell you, I didn't just like it; I loved it. I loved it so much, I ordered another sandwich to-go for a friend and would have bought an entire loaf of bread were their loaves not already sold out. As the staff told me, their bread regularly sells out before the end of their lunch hours. And I am not mentioning this sold-out bread as a criticism, but rather as a testament to the quality and popularity of the bread that great Harvest prepares each morning.

The bread loaves are so popular, that Great Harvest maintains a weekly bread schedule, offering three or four special breads on designated days of the week. So whether you want to buy a loaf of freshly-ground premium whole wheat-based bread or a delicious and filling sandwich on said bread or one of their bakery treats, Great Harvest Bread Company is the place to go.
