Enjoy the sounds of rock, jazz, country, blues, R&B, and more as they flood the Virginia Beach oceanfront over Labor Day Weekend - Friday, September 4 - Sunday, September 6, 2009 at the American Music Festival.
The American Music Festival is the largest outdoor musical event on the East coast and brings together local, regional, and national acts. The bands play on a gigantic 60-foot wide and 60-foot tall stage on the beach at 5th Street as well as stages in parks along the Virginia Beach oceanfront. Just about every musical genre is included, so there is truly something for everyone. Featuring Boyz II Men, Heart and the Black Crowes.
Headliners on the 5th Street Main Stage are world-class artists who will appeal to music lovers of all types.
- Friday, Sept. 4 - Boyz II Men with the Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards.. Tickets are $15 advance, $20 day of show.
- Saturday, Sept. 5 - Heart with opening act to be announced. Tickets are $20 advance, $25 day of show.
- Sunday, Sept 6 - The Black Crowes presented by the Rock ‘n' Roll Half-Marathon. Tickets are $20 advance, $25 day of show.

In addition to the 5th Street Main Stage, national recording bands will perform free nightly along the boardwalk at oceanfront park stages at 17th Street, 24th Street and 31st Street.
