I am not a marathon runner. Heck, I'm not a runner at all. But I know how rewarding, addictive, and fun marathons can be. I go the Shamrock Marathon because it is really a fun thing to do at the Beach. Virginia Beach is truly buzzing with a runner's energy. There are so many people and there is so much excitement downtown as crowds cheer on the runners. Not only are there a nice variety of races offered but there are parties and great celebrations afterwards. The beach and boardwalk offer great backdrops for the runners and I understand the courses are really nice to run.

It really is a great marathon weekend!

Half Marathon News - The half marathon is sold out at the 8,000 person limit. The dolphin and Team half marathon categories are sold out as well. However, there is still room in the Towne Bank 8K, Marathon and Operation Smile Final Mile.
