Outdoor Williamsburg - Golf Season is here. Top Golf Courses in Williamsburg
Contributed by WR Murphy
Of the golf courses in Williamsburg, the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club is certainly the most renowned. Its course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. in 1963. In 1967, Jack Nicklaus set the course record, 67, which still stands. (The amateur record is 68, set by Marvin "Vinny" Giles, who was competing against Nicklaus when both records were set.)
Kingsmill is another notable golf course in the Williamsburg area. The Kingsmill Resort has courses designed by Pete Dye, Tom Clark, and Curtis Strange. Their Rive Course, designed by Pete Dye, has been the site of numerous PGA and LPGA tournaments.
The Williamsburg National Golf Club is also worth mentioning. It has excellent scenery and conditions, and is a truly beautiful place to spend the day. Last, but not least, I wanted to mention The Colonial Golf Club, located outside Williamsburg in beautiful scenery. The Colonial Golf Club is a great place get away from the city (or town) for a bit, and really focus on enjoying a game of golf with a few good friends.

cents and tell us all about it.
