Richmond History: St. John's Church Anniversary Reenactment
Wednesday, 10 March 2010 08:08

patriotsJoin St. John's Church on Sunday, March 21, 2010 for the 235th anniversary of the reenactment of the Second Virginia Convention of March 1775. In the presence of Washington, Jefferson, and other notable Virginians, Patrick Henry delivered his passionate call for liberty, uttering the immortal words, "Give me liberty or give me death!"

Bring your friends and family to St. John's Church in Richmond, Virginia, the famous site of the Second Virginia Convention of March 1775. Professional actors in 1770's attire portray ten of the "founding fathers" in one of Richmond's most popular and longest running historical performances. The reenactment depicts the animated debates of Jefferson, Washington and other notable Virginians and culminates in Patrick Henry's passionate "Give me liberty or give me death" speech.

Reenactments are free but voluntary donations may be given and are collected at the end of each performance. The reenactment will last approximately 45 minutes. Call 804-648-5015 for more information.
