New Model Vehicles, Custom Camaros, Alternative Fuel Models and More

Hundreds of new cars, trucks, sport/utility vehicles and crossovers will pack the Greater Richmond Convention Center, Friday, March 12 through Sunday, March 14, for the 2010 Virginia Motor Trend International Auto Show.

Attendees are invited to check out all the latest vehicles in a non-selling environment, sit behind the wheels, inspect engines and learn about new fuel-saving automotive technologies. From luxury rides to the latest in fuel efficiency, the 2010 Virginia Motor Trend International Auto Show offers something for everyone.

On display at the 2010 Virginia Motor Trend International Auto Show will be several exciting, all-new or redesigned 2010 vehicles including the Cadillac SRX, GMC Terrain, Honda Insight, Hyundai Genesis Coupe, Subaru Legacy, Toyota 4Runner and more, as well as a collection of hybrids including the Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Tahoe, Honda Civic, Lexus GS, Mercury Mariner and Toyota Highlander.

The auto show will feature several 2011 pre-production models affording attendees a sneak preview of the models that will be hitting dealers in the near future. Pre-production models on display include the Buick Regal, Ford Edge, Ford Fiesta, Ford Mustang V6, Ford Super Duty, Lincoln MKX and Mazda2.

See the latest customizations and check out the Chevrolet Dale Earnhardt Jr. Camaro and Chevrolet Camaro "Black" SEMA concepts. A fan of vintage Camaros, Dale Earnhardt Jr. inspired the Chevrolet Dale Earnhardt Jr. Camaro which includes a V-8 engine modified to run on E85, a Brembo brake package and custom paint job with 21-inch five spoke wheels. The "Black" Concept offers an ominous matte-black custom paint scheme and red-glowing HID headlamp halo rings.

Attendees and Camaro enthusiasts will have the opportunity to meet Chevrolet's Camaro Authority Scott Settlemire in the Chevrolet display on Friday, March 12 at 7 p.m. "A rabid Camaro fan" since he first saw a Camaro in person in 1966, Settlemire played an important role as part of the Camaro/Corvette Performance Car Team developing the 4th generation F-car, and worked with Chevrolet on the new Camaro.

Experience the Drive Chevy Buick GMC invites showgoers to drive 2010 models and get a real feel for the performance and handling. Drivers will be able to choose from the Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet Equinox, Chevrolet Malibu, Chevrolet Traverse, Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid, Buick LaCrosse, Buick Enclave and GMC Terrain. The ride and drive will be open to attendees on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Drivers must be at least 21 and show a valid driver's license.

Take the Green Trail at the Virginia Motor Trend International Auto Show and see the latest trends in alternative fuel vehicles. Green directional arrows will help attendees find hybrid models on the show floor, as well as point to new technology to help save money at the fuel pump and promote a cleaner environment. Several alternative fuel vehicles will be featured along the Green Trail including models from Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Honda, Lexus, Mazda and Toyota.

On College Two-Fer Day, Friday, March 12, college students can start the weekend early with a trip to the auto show to check out the new model vehicles on display. Students who purchase one admission ticket with a valid college ID will receive a second admission free with a second valid college ID.

Children 12 and younger are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult on Kids Day, Sunday, March 14. The auto show will be open to the public Friday, March 12 through Sunday, March 14, at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, located at 403 North 3rd Street, in Richmond. On-site parking is available on the convention center's parking deck.

Show hours are Friday and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $9 for adults, $5 for senior citizens (62 and older) and active military and $3 for children (ages 7-12). Children six and younger are admitted free with a paying adult.
