Learn about the science of flight and racing with Rockets to Racecars, a celebration in honor of Black History Month, Saturday, February 11, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Virginia Air & Space Center. This year's celebration is bigger and better, featuring many hands-on activities and special appearances by racing, aviation and space heroes. Special guests include: NASA Astronaut Benjamin A. Drew, Langley Air Force Base Pilot Captain Paul "Loco" Lopez, members of the Tidewater Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen and Racecar Drivers from Langley Speedway. Special this year, kids get in FREE with purchase of adult exhibit admission.
Who: All ages interested in history and scientific fun!
What: Rockets to Racecars is a celebration in honor of Black History Month

How: Rockets to Racecars activities are included in regular exhibit admission. Receive one FREE child exhibit admission with the purchase of one adult exhibit admission at regular price. Fees apply for IMAX presentations of Space Station 3D.
Activities include:
· Autograph Meet –n-Greet with NASA Astronaut Benjamin A. Drew STS-118 & STS-133.
· Test Bernoulli's Law.
· Compare space shuttle tires with other types of tires.
· Build you own small scale wind tunnel.
· Become an air traffic controller when you play NASA's Smart Skies.
· Participate in fluttering fun.

The Virginia Air & Space Center is located at 600 Settlers Landing Road in Downtown Hampton. Take I-64 to exit 267. Follow Settlers Landing Road and the Center will be on the left.
