Spring officially sprung on March 20, and the turning of seasons was quite welcome after our snow-filled winter. It's safe to say the icing of Virginia is over - this weekend is supposed to reach the 80's! - and Spring Fever is spreading like wildfire.
Plenty of Williamsburg restaurants offer patio seating, and residents have been filling them up to take advantage of the last few weekend's beautiful weather. Buon Amici, The Trellis, The Cheese Shop, Opus 9, Second Street, and Berrret's Taphouse Grill (open in April) are just a few of the Williamsburg restaurants that offer outdoor dining, so keep them in mind for a meal out this weekend.
If it's Spring Break... then it's tourist season. Their inundation of our quaint little town has begun. Personally, I don't mind because tourists remind me of all the great things Williamsburg has to offer! Fabulous shopping, colonial charm, ghost tours, carriage rides - it's easy to get caught up in day-to-day life and forget Williamsburg's unique characteristics.
Flowers are blooming! The campus of William and Mary is a great place to see the first blooms of spring. Spring Break often brings prospective W&M students to the area, so William and Mary primps their gardens and puts their best foot forward.
Finally, my favorite sign of Spring Fever is a craving for Sno-To-Go. Open for the 2010 season, Sno-To-Go is THE place for an icy treat all spring and summer long, so if you haven't tried it, go today! Their signature dessert is made up of flavored ice "stuffed" with delicious, creamy custard.
Get out there and catch the fever! Summer can be sweltering in the ‘Burg, so make the most of the beautifully mild weather while you can.
