Tips for Exchanging Your Timeshare

How does the Vacations, Resorts & Rentals Program Work?

beachfamilyVacations, Resorts & Rentals helps you find great vacation specials by serving as a resource for all aspects of timeshare vacation rentals and exchanges.

Here are some tips on how the Exchange Program works:

1. Call your home resort and pay your maintenance fees (always pay your maintenance fees the first day that you can).

2. Set your week, and get a confirmation and a brochure if they have one. June 20th until August 15th are normally the highest rentals of the year, however special event weeks or holiday weeks can also be pricey, such as Easter week, Spring break, Thanksgiving week or race week, etc.

3. Set dates outside of the school calendar will rent at a lower rate, or for fewer days than a week. Some properties will have seasonal rates at certain times of the year.

4. Fill out a rental agreement.

5. If the property is not rented 30 days before check in you have the right to use the unit, or you can call Vacations, Resorts & Rentals and you may discuss lowering the unit to move it faster.

Vacations, Resorts & Rentals takes great pride in renting a unit for the best rate possible, but remember that in this economy, flexibility is very important to get the unit rented, for example, a "normal rate" of $1,400 in Tennessee may only go for $1,100 this year, due to the state of the economy.

The earlier you get your unit listed, the better are the chances of a higher rate.
