Virginia Beach Outdoors: First Landing National Park

I don't know about you all, but I am glad to see the end of winter this year. I think we got more snow these last three months than we did during the four previous winters combined, and I have never been so ready for spring. I've been itching to spend some time in the great outdoors for quite a while now, and I think I've finally found the perfect spot to spend the first lazy Saturdays of spring: First Landing State Park, in Virginia Beach.

First Landing State Park offers a little bit of everything. Whether you want to take a kayak out, pack a nice picnic, or just go for a long walk in the woods, this park is the place to do it. If you're looking for a longer stay than that, remember that First Landing also offers camping, and has some cabins, for those who are a little tent-shy, though the cabins don't open till Memorial Day. There is also swimming (though no lifeguards) and a boat ramp, the use of which is free for campers.

If you're looking to spend some quality time outside, First Landing State Park is the place to go.
