Groundhog Day is an annual holiday celebrated in the US and Canda on February 2nd. According to folklore, if a groundhog emerging from its burrow on this day fails to see its shadow, it will leave the burrow, signifying that winter will soon end. If on the other hand, the groundhog sees its shadow, the groundhog will supposedly retreat into its burrow, and winter will continue for six more weeks. So, it looks like the fuzzy little fat guy saw his shadow this morning so that means 6 more weeks of winter. Great. To celebrate this holiday I thought I'd share a clip from one of my favorite movies, Groundhog Day! If you haven't seen the movie before it's a classic and a must-see movie. And don't worry, even though in this scene Phil kidnapped Punxsutawney Phil and it looks like they meet their demise, our favorite little groundhog is just fine.
