Friday
You’re parents arrive for William and Mary's annual Fall Family Weekend. Now what?! You show them your dorm room and introduce them to some friends but you don’t really have any idea on where to take them. Luckily Williamsburg has tons of restaurants and attractions that are perfect places to relax and enjoy your time with your parents.
Lunch: The Cheese Shop
After your parents check into King's Creek Plantation, head over to the Cheese Shop. You're probably really excited to tell them about the start of the new semester, your class schedule, new friends, and professors, so start by going for a walk to The Cheese Shop, just down the street from campus in Merchant's Square. You'll find sandwiches of all types made on fresh, homemade bread with delicious cheeses. The Cheese Shop has fantastic sandwiches, as well as gourmet spreads, oils, pastas, and handcrafted goods in the store inside. Your parents can go downstairs to the Wine Cellar to find a variety of local and imported wine and beer. Outside everyone can enjoy the patio with drinks and sandwiches while you gush over how great college really is!
Shopping: Merchant's Square
You’re already on Prince George St., so you aren’t far away from tons of other restaurants and shops that you could browse for hours! Stop into the Peanut Shop, the Ham Shop, Barnes & Noble (for all your WM gear!), the Campus shop, Williams Sonoma, Wythe Candy, and anything else you see. You might also be able to enjoy some music on Duke of Gloucester Street. Merchant Square is a great place to hang out because there’s always something going on.
After your family has shopped till they want to drop, walk over to Aromas on Prince George Street and grab some coffee or tea and dinner. Aromas offer a wide variety, there's something for everyone in the family - soups, salads, bakery items, and dinner entrees after 5:00pm. So, whether you're in the mood for vegetarian fare, a simple wrap or sandwich, a salad or some tea, Aromas has something for everyone (kids, too). The menu is reasonably priced with lots of options. Sit outside or inside, relax and enjoy the inviting atmosphere that Aromas offers. It’s more than a Coffeehouse, it's a local favorite for wine, beer, live music, and casual dining.
Saturday
Take your family to New Town where you will find shopping, restaurants, ice cream shops, and other fun places to explore. Start your weekend off on the right foot. Green Leafe New Town is the perfect place for a hot breakfast. Afterwards, you can explore New Town’s fancy shops, restaurants, and businesses. Some favorite locations are Great Harvest Bread Company, Maggie Moo’s, Corner Pocket (for Billards), Old Navy, and Barnes and Noble.

Spend the rest of the afternoon browsing the shops of New Town.
Before the game your family wants to get a bite to eat so everyone will have energy to cheer on the Tribe. Night Football: The Tribe vs. Delaware
Head over to Zable Stadium for a great football game at one of the oldest schools in the country. Wear your green and gold to show your pride. The game starts at 7pm, but get there earlier because a little tailgating never hurt anyone!
After the game walk across the street to the Green Leafe right off William and Mary Campus. The Green Leafe has been a Williamsburg institution since it first opened its doors in 1974. A meeting place for students, locals, tourists, regulars and newcomers, alike The Leafe welcomes everyone to drop by and get a taste of what makes it so inviting.
